Overview
South Luangwa is where the walking safari was invented, and it is still the best place on the continent to do it. Days start before dawn on foot, tracking through mopane woodland and riverine forest with a guide and scout, reading tracks and learning the small detail that game drives pass by. Afternoons and nights are spent in an open vehicle looking for the valley's famously relaxed leopards.
